BubbleRec Support

BubbleRec needs all three to do its job: the camera feeds the face-cam bubble, the microphone records your voice and Screen Recording captures the area you frame. Everything is processed on your Mac and nothing is sent anywhere — see the Privacy Policy.

1. Open System Settings › Privacy & Security › Screen & System Audio Recording.
2. Turn on BubbleRec. If it is not listed, click + and add it from Applications.
3. Quit BubbleRec completely and open it again. macOS only applies this permission to a freshly launched app.

If you have just updated macOS, the permission sometimes needs to be turned off and on again.

By default in your Downloads folder as H.264 MP4 files named with the date and time. You can pick any other folder in Settings (⚙️) › Save recordings to › Choose… and BubbleRec will remember it.

Drag the edges of the white frame to the area you want. You can resize it before or during a recording. The frame and the toolbar are never included in the video.

Selfie switches to a full-frame webcam view mid-recording so you can talk to camera, then back to the screen — all in one take. Pause stops the clock and cuts the paused time out of the file. Mute silences your microphone while the recording continues.

Any Mac running macOS 13 Ventura or later, Apple silicon or Intel. For 4K / 60 fps recordings an Apple silicon Mac is recommended.

Pro unlocks recording. It is a monthly subscription with a 7-day free trial; after the trial it costs €2.99 per month (or the equivalent shown in your local App Store) and renews automatically until you cancel. Full terms in Terms of Use, section 4.

Press Record, or open the BubbleRec Pro screen, and click Start Free Trial. Apple will ask you to confirm with your Apple Account. Nothing is charged for 7 days.

Yes. Unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of day 7, Apple charges the monthly price to your Apple Account and the subscription continues month to month. Apple also emails you a reminder before a free trial converts.

On your Mac: System Settings › Apple Account (your name) › Media & Purchases › Manage Subscriptions › BubbleRec Pro › Cancel. Or inside the app: Settings (⚙️) › Manage…. You keep Pro until the end of the period you have paid for. Deleting the app does not cancel the subscription.

Make sure your Mac is signed in to the same Apple Account you used to subscribe, then open the Pro screen or Settings and click Restore Purchases. If that does not help, email us with the order reference from your Apple receipt.

Subscriptions are billed by Apple, so refunds are decided and issued by Apple. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com or via Apple Support. If something in the app is not working, please contact us first — we would rather fix it.

No. The app has no accounts, analytics, ads or network features and cannot make internet connections. Recordings and settings stay on your Mac. Read the Privacy Policy.

Drag BubbleRec from Applications to the Bin. macOS also removes the app’s settings container (~/Library/Containers/com.bubblerec.app). Your recordings are ordinary files in the folder you chose — delete them whenever you like. Remember to cancel the subscription separately if you no longer want it.
